CadFlow provides automatic coronarography data analysis including stenosis detection, characterization, and quantification, contributing to automatic calculation of the SyntaxScore parameter. Coronary Artery Disease
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a pathological condition caused by the cholesterol-based plaque buildup on the walls of the coronary arteries, the vessels responsible for providingoxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. Over time, the progressive buildup of plaque results in the gradual narrowing of the arterial lumen (atherosclerosis).
CAD is the leading direct (myocardial infarction), and indirect (stroke, hypertension, pulmonary embolism, thromboembolism, hemorrhage) cause of death worldwide.
There are many factors influencing its development including genetics and lifestyle associated that are still under research investigation. Nevertheless, timely diagnosis and treatment can limit its negative effects, transforming it into a manageable comorbidity rather than a fatal condition.
Currently, the diagnosis is made on the basis of manual analysis of the images acquired during widely available X-ray based medical examination procedure – coronarography.

A novel AI system for computer aided detection and characterization of cardiovascular stenosis
Algorithms
The application is divided into independent microservices, according to the natural steps of coronarography data processing. Medical specialists are provided with insight into every step and the required level of explainability is ensured to build trust in medical community. Each step is transparent and can be manually corrected by medical doctors. Thanks to CadFlow, the SYNTAX score calculation process is greatly simplified. On the one hand, it is automated, it detects lesions suspected of significantly narrowing the lumen of the vessel and determines the segment in which they are located, but leaves the hemodynamist the ability to influence the process of calculating the results, e.g. if he performs, in addition to classic coronary angiography, also a functional evaluation e.g. FFR/iFR or imaging (IVUS/OCT) and on the basis of such an examination considers the stenosis to be insignificant.
